Semillon has been used to vinify a wide variety of wine styles
throughout Australia, ranging from dry white, to luscious dessert
wines. The variety is widely recognized as the Hunter
Valley's original and classic white grape
variety, with plantings dating back to the very beginnings of
viticulture in
Australia. The Color is Pale Yellow with a bright green hue, while the
nose is aromatic and refined with pristine varietal aromas of
lemon-citrus, hay and delicate floral scents.
The palate has an underlying softness of tropical fruit
balanced by a lively citrus
characters and crisp natural
acidity. Whilst drinking well now, this wine will reward cellaring and
continue to improve in bottle over the next few years. This wine is
ideally suited as an Aperitif, or to drink with Seafood or Salad.
